The scope of our work extends beyond simply addressing homelessness; it's about transforming community dynamics and fostering societal well-being. At KPOK we understand the complexities of and that our approach may not be the solution for everyone. Access to Care

KPOK community members cleanup after being swept-Kaka'ako
  • KPOK coordinates service events every quarter in urban Honolulu for the homeless that prioritizes removing accessibility barriers to essential and housing services, while focusing on meeting immediate and long-term needs of the community, by bringing service providers together to provide their services directly to houseless individuals in the community.
    Services provided are tailored to meet individual needs of the community based on gathered feedback from attendees beforehand by houseless peers and others with lived experince or who have an existing relationships with potential attendees. In doing so, houseless individuals are more open and willing to engage and receive needed services.
    KPOK Leaders and Hui Aloha
    Houseless individuals and persons with lived experience help their peers connect and navigate through the complex service systems. Providing direct services, attending clients to appointments, direct-client referrals to outside resources and services. With established trust and relationships, individuals are able to bridge the gap betwen clients and providers, resulting in meaningful and intentional quality care, enhancing service delivery.

Peer Navigation & Support

  • Direct Services

    Houseless individuals and persons with lived experience help their peers connect and navigate through the complex service systems. With established trust and relationships, individuals are able to bridge the gap betwen clients and providers, resulting in meaningful and intentional quality care, enhancing service delivery.
