Empowering houseless as leaders in their own care and the care of others.

Houseless leaders residing in Kaka‘ako. HI. meet with government officials to advocate for temporary housing solutions for themselves and other houseless members from their community, after working with their Neighborhood Board to draft a resolution to establish a safe zone kauhale in Kaka'ako.
Houseless-Led Service Events
KPOK coordinates service events every quarter in urban Honolulu for the homeless that prioritizes removing accessibility barriers to essential and housing services, while focusing on meeting immediate and long-term needs of the community, by bringing service providers together to provide their services directly to houseless individuals in the community.
Services provided are tailored to meet individual needs of the community based on gathered feedback from attendees beforehand by houseless peers and others with lived experince or who have an existing relationships with potential attendees. In doing so, houseless individuals are more open and willing to engage and receive needed services.
